Camille’s team had a great write up in the recent Placer Newsletter about the Tournament in Modesto, CA – Great Job “Monster’s”

Placer U9 Girls Elite

Placer’s U9G Elite won their Quarter Final game 5-0 versus Mustang Stars of the Gold 1 bracket, while the U10B Premier beat Livermore Fusion 3-0 in the Silver 1 bracket to clinch their places in the next round.

On to the final stages in Manteca for both teams…the U10B Premier came up against Newark Atlas and after a very close game, Newark scored in extra time to win 3-2 via the Golden Goal ruling. It was a tough loss for the boys since they had played well and can look back on a couple of wasted oppurtunities which passed by in regular time.

The U9G Elite had a semi-final game against Inter Rage and after dominating the first half, a final shot let Placer down so it was still 0-0 at halftime. In the second half, Inter scored early to put Placer on the back foot but goals from Camille Garcia and Grettel Sainz got the girls in front and we eventually held out to win 2-1 and set up a final with Grypons SC.

Double mini-trampoline (DMT)

A double mini-trampoline is smaller than a regulation competition trampoline. It has a sloped end and a flat bed. The gymnasts run up and jump on to the sloping end and then jump on to the flat part before dismounting on to a mat. Skills are performed during the jumps or as they dismount.

Double Mini Run - Camille Garcia

A double mini-trampoline competition consists of two types of pass. In the one, which is known as a mounter pass, the athlete performs one skill in the jump from the sloping end to the flat bed and a second skill as they dismount from the flat bed to the landing mat. In the second, which is known as a spotter pass, the athlete does a straight jump from the sloping end to the flat bed to gain height, performing one skill while landing back on the flat bed and then a second skill as they dismount. These skills are similar to those performed on a regular trampoline except that there is movement laterally along the trampoline.
